TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama assistant coach Tom Asbury said
he will retire from coaching when his contract expires in July.
The 61-year-old Asbury returned to coaching in 2003 to join Mark Gottfried's Crimson Tide staff.
The former Pepperdine and Kansas State head coach says the decision was in the planning since the start of the season. Asbury said health issues within his family helped convince him this should be his last year on the bench.
Asbury will take another unspecified position in Alabama's athletic department.
