Auburn 5, South Alabama 2

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Justin Bristow pitched four nearly perfect innings, striking out a career-high six batters, to help lead Auburn to a 5-to-2 victory over South Alabama Tuesday night.

Austin Hubbard and Chris Dennis rounded out the Tigers' pitching trio, and the three struck out a combined 13 South Alabama (16-and-13) players. Hubbard pitched four innings and struck out a career-high four, and Dennis earned his second save of the season with a perfect ninth.

Josh Donaldson provided most of the offense for Auburn (21-and-11), finishing with his fourth three-hit game of the season while driving in two. He also stole two bases, giving him eleven on the season.

Bruce Edwards was 2-for-3 with two walks from the leadoff spot, scoring one run and driving in another. Ryan Jenkins went 2-for-4.

Kevin Nabors took the loss for South Alabama.
