Braves Entertain White Sox at Turner Field

ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves return to Turner Field tonight for the first of two exhibition games with the Chicago White Sox before Monday's season opener against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

The Braves, who also play Chicago tomorrow afternoon, lost to the Cleveland Indians yesterday in their final spring game at Atlanta's Disney World training complex. Fausto Carmona pitched six hitless innings in an 8-to-2 victory for the Indians, who touched up Tim Hudson in his final outing of the spring.

Hudson pitched three scoreless innings but ran into trouble in the fourth, when he gave up three runs. He issued consecutive walks and yielded a two-run single to Casey Blake.

New Atlanta setup man Rafael Soriano gave up two-run homers to Trot Nixon and Blake in the fifth. Soriano's spring ERA rose from 1.13 to 5.00.

Atlanta got its first hit in the eighth when Yunel Escobar opened the inning with a single off Jason Davis. Chris Woodward then doubled, and Doug Clark had a two-run single.
