The state volleyball titles are on the line this week in Pelham. The Providence Christian Eagles are at the state Elite Eight for the fifth time in the last six years.

The Eagles have their sights set on the Class 1A title this year.

Providence got off to a good start, beating Spring Garden in three straight games. Katie Dowd led the Eagles with 15 kills and 11 digs.

The Lady Eagles followed that up with a semifinal win over Holy Spirit Catholic of Tuscaloosa.
P.C. also won that one in three games.

The Lady Eagles advance to the Class 1A title game against Athens Bible Thursday at 1:30.
