OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Brandon Belcher hit a home run and had three RBIs as Alabama used a five-run eighth inning to beat Mississippi 8-5.
The Rebels (16-9, 1-3 Southeastern Conference) held a 5-to-2 lead going into the eighth inning. But the Crimson Tide (17-8, 3-1 SEC) used a pair of run-scoring walks by Scott Bittle to slip away with the first win of a three-game series.
Josh Copland picked up the win after working one-third of an
inning, recording the last out of the seventh. Will Kline picked up
his first loss of the season after giving up six runs on six hits.
Cody Overbeck hit a home run for Ole Miss, while Jordan Henry
was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. His brother, Justin
Henry, was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
