AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The Auburn-Kentucky game is shrouded in a
double-dose of mystery.
How will the Wildcats handle the loss of quarterback Mike
Hartline to a knee injury? How will the Tigers respond to their
first loss of what had been a high-flying season?
Those answers won't come until Saturday night, when the Tigers
(5-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) host the Wildcats (2-3, 0-3).
Kentucky will turn either to junior backup Will Fidler or
freshman Morgan Newton. Newton hasn't played a college game yet but
was Indiana's Mr. Football last year.
Auburn coaches have even studied film of two late-season games
from last year to see how Kentucky operated without Hartline.
The Tigers are trying to rebound from a loss at Arkansas.
