Auburn 12, Purdue 6

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The Auburn Tigers completed a three-game series sweep with today's 12-to-6 win over Purdue.

Robert Brooks drove in two runs and stole a pair of bases for the Tigers. At 17-and-2, Auburn is off to its best start since 1999.

Auburn (17-2) scored three runs in the first inning and capitalized on four Purdue errors for a six-run fourth.

Starter Evan Crawford (3-0) allowed two runs and four hits before leaving with one out in the sixth.

Auburn outscored Purdue (4-5) by a total of 23-to-6 over the last two games and didn't trail after scoring the game-winning run in the ninth in the opener.

Brooks went 2-for-3 with a run and Andy Bennett had two RBIs for the Tigers. Auburn only had one extra-base hit, Mike Bianucci's solo homer off the scoreboard in the eighth.

Tony Sedlmeyer (1-2) took the loss for the Boilermakers, allowing six runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk in 3-1/3 innings.
