TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Nebraska's Steve Edlefsen struck out the final two batters to strand a runner at second base and preserve Nebraska's 6-to-5 win over Alabama Sunday.

The Cornhuskers (8-5) nearly blew a 6-to-3 lead in the ninth inning, allowing two runs on three hits. But Edlefsen came in from right field for his second straight save, striking out Kent Matthes and Matt Bentley to end the game with pinch-runner Tyler Odle on second.

Nebraska won two of three games from the Crimson Tide (13-6).

Andrew Brown hit a solo homer in the second and Nebraska took a 5-nothing lead on Craig Corriston's run-scoring bunt in the sixth before Alabama started to rally. It was Corriston's third RBI of the game.

Johnny Dorn (2-2) got the win after allowing two runs and five hits 5-1/3 innings.

Alabama's Bernard Robert (2-2) lost his second start of the week, giving up five runs and six hits in 5-1/3 innings.
