Auburn's normally sturdy defense is struggling

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn's normally stingy defense is battling
some issues these days.

The Tigers have health and depth problems going into Saturday's
game with Kentucky. Cornerback Walt McFadden is nursing a right
knee injury while defensive end Antonio Coleman has been playing
with a cast on his right hand.

Four players have missed all six games with injuries.

Auburn (5-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) has allowed 1,414
yards in its last three games against major conference teams. The
Tigers were rocked for 495 yards in a 44-23 loss at Arkansas last
weekend, falling out of the Top 25 after a one-week cameo.

Auburn is ranked ninth in the SEC in pass and total defense and
10th in scoring and rushing defense.
