MEXICO CITY (AP) - Juan Pablo Montoya spun teammate Scott Pruett to take the lead with eight laps left and then held off Denny Hamlin to win the Busch Series race for his first NASCAR victory.
Montoya is the Colombian star who jumped from Formula One to NASCAR late last season. He recovered from a bad pit stop to move from 19th to first. He took the lead when he sent Pruett's car spinning on the 72nd lap. Afterward, he apologized but Pruett saw it differently.
Pruett called it "lowdown, nasty, dirty driving."
Boris Said (sehd) finished third. Carl Edwards was fourth with Pruett fifth.
