BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Georgia quarterback Joe Cox, Auburn
linebacker Craig Stevens and Kentucky return man Derrick Locke have
been named Southeastern Conference players of the week.
Cox earned offensive honors Monday after passing for 375 yards
and five touchdowns in a win over Arkansas.
Stevens returned his first career interception 15 yards for a decisive touchdown with 3:41 left in Auburn's win over West Virginia. He had a career-high 11 tackles.
Locke won the special teams award after returning a kick 100 yards in Kentucky's win over Louisville. He had 310 all-purpose yards.
Offensive line honors went to Florida center Maurkice Pouncey. Mississippi State end Pernell McPhee claimed defensive line honors.
South Carolina tailback Jarvis Giles was freshman of the week.
