Williams sisters take doubles title without a fuss

NEW YORK (AP) - The Williams sisters have won the U.S. Open
women's doubles title, two days after Serena's ugly exit in the
singles semifinals.

Serena teamed with her older sister, Venus, to defeat defending
champions Cara Black and Liezel Huber 6-2, 6-2 on Monday for their
10th career Grand Slam doubles title and first at Flushing Meadows
since 1999.

They are 10-0 in Grand Slam finals.

The match began about a half-hour after Serena Williams issued
an apology for the profanity-laced tirade she directed at a line
judge who called her for a foot fault Saturday night against Kim

The foot fault, on a second serve, led to match point, and the
point penalty Williams received for her reaction ended the match.
She was fined $10,000 for the outburst on Sunday.
