MSU RB Back on the Field

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi State tailback Anthony Dixon's
suspension is over. You can tell because the decibel level in
Starkville has gone up. Way up.

Strong safety Charles Mitchell said Dixon came out to practice
Monday screaming, and the vocal Dixon probably won't turn the
volume down on his excitement until the opening kickoff Saturday at

Dixon missed the Bulldogs' 45-14 win over Jackson State after
his arrest in July for driving under the influence of alcohol. The
6-foot-1, 235-pound senior pleaded guilty last month.

The team did fine without him against the Football Championship Subdivision Tigers. Though his replacement, Christian Ducre, fumbled twice, the Bulldogs ran for 202 yards and scored more points than they have since 2002.
