Saban Gets Contract Extension

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - University of Alabama Athletic Director
Mal Moore says head football coach Nick Saban has signed a
three-year extension to his original contract.

Moore on Saturday announced the extension that would keep Saban
in charge of the Crimson Tide football program through the 2017
season. Saban signed an eight-year contract when he came to Alabama
in 2007.

The athletic department said in a statement that the extensionv is subject to approval by the compensation committee of the board
of trustees of the University of Alabama System. The committee is
expected to meet soon to discuss the extension.

Moore said Saban has managed to bring the Tide back to national prominence in a very short time.
