Auburn Names Todd Starting QB

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Chris Todd is Auburn's starting quarterback.
Coach Gene Chizik announced after Thursday's practice that the
senior would start the Tigers' season opener against Louisiana
Tech. Former starter Kodi Burns will work at receiver and as the
quarterback in the wildcat formation.

Todd missed the first spring practice in Gus Malzahn's offense after having shoulder surgery in December.

He beat out Burns, Neil Caudle and freshmen Tyrik Rollison and
Clint Moseley.

Todd went 3-2 as a starter last season but was limited by a shoulder injury sustained in junior college.

Burns said he has no plans to transfer. In fact, he met with the team after learning of the coaches' decision and pleaded for harmony.
