There weren’t too many bright spots in last year’s 2-8 season, but the Headland Rams have found a few.
The Rams are in focus as we countdown to kickoff.
Here's the good news, the team was filled with freshman last year. Those guys are now sophomores with experience.
It’s still no easy task for the Rams this season as they try to manage that Class 3A schedule against the likes of Daleville, Slocomb, Pike County and Geneva.
Headland Head Coach Donnie Smith sees some “positives” in his players.
"We're looking for some big things out of them,” Smith said. “They've worked extremely hard. We're excited about what we have in front of us. But, we're on the bottom looking up. Our goal is just to keep getting better each week. Based on our kids' progress this summer, we've put ourselves in the position to try to do some good things this year."
Headland hosts Ariton to start the season on Friday, August 28.
