GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida cornerback Janoris Jenkins says
he's learned his lesson after being Tasered and arrested in May
following a downtown fight.
Jenkins, a sophomore from Pahokee, was on the field Thursday as
the Gators opened preseason practice. He says he learned a lot
about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Gainesville Police charged Jenkins with affray and resisting
arrest without violence May 30 after he tried to flee from the
scene of the fight.
He signed a deferred prosecution agreement with the State Attorney's Office in June. If he avoids any violations in the next sixth months and fulfills the rest of the terms of the agreement, Jenkins' record will be wiped clean.
