Hudson moves closer to return to majors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Tim Hudson has pitched four scoreless
innings for Triple-A Gwinnett, another step toward returning to the
Atlanta Braves after having elbow ligament-replacement surgery.

The Braves will have a difficult roster decision to make when
Hudson is ready.

Third in the majors with a 3.72 ERA, the Braves already have a
deep rotation with Derek Lowe, Javier Vazquez, Jair Jurrjens,
Kenshin Kawakami and Tommy Hanson.

Hudson, who has been out nearly a year, gave up one hit in each
of his four innings against Leigh Valley on Monday. He did not walk
a batter in his third injury rehabilitation appearance and could be
ready for the majors by mid-August.
