Tide set to face Oklahoma State in Clemson regional

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Alabama's baseball team is set to open NCAA
regional play.

The Crimson Tide faces Oklahoma State Friday afternoon at the
Clemson University regional, hoping to regroup after losing both
games in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Tide (37-19) will send ace Austin Hyatt to the mound in the
opener of the double-elimination tournament.

Slugger Kent Matthes is tied for the national lead with 28
homers. Oklahoma State coach Frank Anderson called him one of the
"top 5-to-10 guys in the country that stands out."

Brandon May will replace injured Jake Smith at third base.

Clemson and Tennessee Tech are also playing.
