ATLANTA (AP) - Derek Lowe pitched into the eighth inning and drove in the go-ahead run with one of his two hits, leading the Atlanta Braves to a 4-3 victory over the slumping Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday night.
Lowe (6-2) allowed two runs and five hits in 7 1-3 innings to move into a tie for the NL lead in wins. He has allowed two runs or less in seven of his 10 starts.
The Blue Jays have lost five straight, their longest streak since losing seven straight from June 14-21, 2008. They began the night a half-game ahead of Boston for first in the AL East.
Kelly Johnson hit a seventh-inning homer off Toronto's B.J. Ryan.
