HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Jonathan Pigott hit two home runs and had
four RBIs to help Florida eliminate Mississippi from the
Southeastern Conference tournament with a 12-2 victory on Thursday.
Preston Tucker also homered for the Gators (39-19), who will
play either Arkansas or Georgia in another elimination game on
Friday. Tucker had three hits and three RBIs.
Pigott had only two homers this season coming into the game,
which was called after eight innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
The Rebels (40-17) went 0-2 in the SEC tournament after winning
a share of their first regular-season league title since 1977. Kyle
Henson and David Phillips each drove in a run for Ole Miss.
Anthony DeSclafani (6-3) and Patrick Keating combined to pitch a
seven-hitter and hold the Rebels scoreless over the last seven
