The deal announced on Saturday will pay her at least $570,000 a year plus incentives, with a base salary of $226,800 and the rest coming from endorsements and radio and television agreements.
Fortner led the Tigers to a 30-4 season and their first Southeastern Conference regular-season title in 20 years.
Auburn was upset by Rutgers in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Fortner has led the Tigers to the NCAA tournament the past two seasons.
She has a 101-57 record in five years at Auburn, including 71 wins over the last three seasons. Fortner also coached the U.S. women to gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
