'Bama spring game challenges McElroy, offense

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Greg McElroy and Alabama's first-team
offense will face an awfully big challenge in the spring game.

They'll have to go against the Crimson Tide's formidable defense
in Saturday's A-Day game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is 2 p.m.

McElroy is the leading contender to replace quarterback John
Parker Wilson. Several offensive line spots have also been up for
grabs along with tight end.

The defense, meanwhile, has nine starters returning.

Coach Nick Saban said the format of starters against starters
will help show where the team stands.
