Defense Dominates Auburn's Second Scrimmage

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn's defense held the upper hand for the
second straight scrimmage.

The Tigers went through a 70-play session at Jordan-Hare Stadium
Saturday and coach Gene Chizik said he was pleased with his team's
energy level.

Safety Mike McNeil sustained a leg injury in the scrimmage and was taken off the field in an ambulance. There was no immediate word on his status.

The defense topped the offense under Chizik's scoring system. Quarterback Kodi Burns said the offense started strong but
became sluggish.

The scrimmage was closed to the public and media. Auburn did not release statistics. The Tigers' spring game is next Saturday. They resume practice on Tuesday after getting Sunday off for Easter.
