AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn's three-way quarterback battle could
carry over into the summer.
That's nothing new to incumbent Kodi Burns. He is once again
engaged in a battle for the starting job and said he's a veteran at
this situation now. This time he is competing with Neil Caudle and
Barrett Trotter with no resolution apparently in sight.
The three contenders might still be stuck in a logjam entering
preseason practices in August. Coach Gene Chizik indicated after
last weekend's opening scrimmage of spring practice that the three
were still "clumped together" and that he and offensive
coordinator Gus Malzahn might not pick a No. 1 guy this spring.
Caudle said the three QBs are "all neck and neck right now."
