Alabama snagged the third expected addition to its 2010 signing class when Suwanee, Ga., offensive lineman Austin Shepherd committed today to Coach Nick Saban.
Shepherd didn't have many scholarship offers yet, but was an early priority for the Crimson Tide. He continues Alabama's recent trend of targeting the Atlanta area, and he sounds certain of his decision.
"I've already talked to my family about this," Shepherd told Crimson Confidential.com. "I'm 100 percent set. I'm done with the process. I'm 100 percent Alabama and I'm not planning on de-committing, no matter what. ... I'm just hard-nosed and love to hit, so I think I could fit in well there."
At 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, Shepherd could play guard or tackle in college. He joins Memphis receiver Keiwone Malone and former Vigor running back Jalston Fowler as early 2010 commitments.
