Phelps eager to put suspension behind him

BALTIMORE (AP) - Michael Phelps says it's fair for USA Swimming
to suspend him for three months, the latest fallout from a photo
showing the Olympic great inhaling from a marijuana pipe.

Phelps was back at his regular pool in Baltimore on Friday, a
day after his suspension.

He says he wants to put this episode to rest.

He again acknowledged that he made a mistake and will accept
his punishment.

Asked if the negative publicity might influence his decision to
compete in the 2012 London Olympics, the swimming superstar said there's a long time between now and then.

Phelps won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics.
