AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - DeWanna Bonner scored 23 points and Whitney
Boddie had two free throws and a layup late, lifting No. 6 Auburn
to a 72-65 win over Mississippi on Thursday night.
Boddie was 2-of-4 from the line and had a steal and layup in the
final 1:10 to help the Tigers (22-1, 7-1 Southeastern Conference)
survive after blowing a 12-point lead.
Boddie also flirted with a triple-double, finishing with eight
points, eight rebounds and 11 assists.
The Tigers appeared poised to take control, riding an 18-3 run
to a 55-43 lead with 11 minutes left. But Bianca Thomas hit three
3-pointers and a pair of free throws during a 14-2 run that tied
the game at 57. Thomas had a career-high 28 points - 21 in the
second half - and hit five 3-pointers.
