TROY, Ala. (AP) - Brandon Hazzard scored 28 points to lead Troy
to a 76-72 overtime win over Denver on Saturday night.
Hazzard shot 9-for-20, including 4-for-9 from 3-point range. The Trojans (13-10, 8-3 Sun Belt Conference), who have now won six
games in a row, also received 19 points from Richard Delk.
The score was tied at 65-65 until Hazzard hit a jumper with 16 seconds remaining to put Troy up by two. But Rob Lewis responded with a buzzer-beater layup to force overtime.
In overtime, Denver took a 74-70 lead with 32 seconds remaining after Kenny Ware split a pair of free throws. Nate Rohnert responded with a layup to cut the lead to two, but Hazzard nailed two free throws for the final score. Rohnert attempted a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left but missed.
Rohnert finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds for Denver (9-12, 4-6). Rob Lewis chipped in with 21 points.
