MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Kenny Ware scored 20 points and Troy
defeated South Alabama 94-70 on Thursday night.
Ware, who was 6 of 10 from the field and 6-for-8 from 3-point
range, led the Trojans, who shot 50 percent as a team (32 of 63).
Brandon Hazzard also had a hot hand from beyond the arc for the
Trojans (8-10, 3-3 Sun Belt Conference), going 4-for-6. Troy shot
53.3 percent from 3-point range (16 of 30), including hitting 10 of
17 long-range shots in the first half (58.8 percent).
Richard Delk added 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists and
three steals for Troy.
Bryan Sherrer led South Alabama (10-7, 3-3) with 14 points, as
he went 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
The Trojans held the Jaguars' two all-conference players,
Domonic Tilford and Brandon Davis to just four and two points,
respectively, as they took a 47-29 first-half lead.
