ACC Coach of the Year

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson is the Atlantic
Coast Conference coach of the year after guiding the Yellow Jackets
to nine regular-season victories.

Johnson earned 46 of a possible 67 votes Tuesday from members of
the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Boston College's Jeff
Jagodzinski was second with 12 votes, followed by Duke's David
Cutcliffe. Virginia Tech's Frank Beamer, North Carolina's Butch
Davis and North Carolina State's Tom O'Brien also earned votes.

The Yellow Jackets (9-3, 5-3 ACC) were picked to finish fourth
in the league's Coastal Division. But the team picked up Johnson's
triple-option offense and ran it well enough to join Florida State
as the only league teams not to lose consecutive games all year.
