AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Guard Dewayne Reed came off the bench to
score 14 points, leading the Tigers to a 61-46 win against
Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday night.
Auburn (3-1) held Bethune-Cookman to a 30.4 percent mark (17 of
56) from the field, and forced 12 turnovers.
Reed was 3-for-5 on 3-pointers, and Quantez Robertson added 12
points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Tigers.
Tay Waller, who was averaging 18.3 points per contest for the
Tigers, finished scoreless for the night and was 0-for-6 shooting,
all from 3-point range.
Bethune-Cookman (1-3) had just 16 points at halftime, and shot
6-for-23 from behind the 3-point line. Jarrell Thomas scored 16
points to lead Bethune-Cookman.
Auburn extended its 12-point lead to 56-33 late in the game
before coach Jeff Lebo turned to his reserves. The 46 points
allowed by Auburn was the third-fewest of Lebo's tenure.
