Dothan Minor League Baseball Hope

Last Thursday a group of Dothan city leaders went to Montgomery to see if something like the capitol's Riverwalk Stadium could be built in Dothan.

City leaders are looking to build a stadium in Dothan that would be home to a minor league team.

A stadium could cost Dothan tax payers between $8 and $15 million and could be paid for in eight years. The cost of a team would be around $7 million, but that would be paid privately.

If built, city leaders expect it to become a major tourist attraction.

Leaders say it would take at least three to five years before any kind of construction would begin.
