Stabler Acquitted on DUI Charges

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - It's unclear if Kenny Stabler will
return to his radio job as the color man on Alabama football
broadcasts.

Stabler took a leave of absence from the position following his
arrest in June on a drunken driving charge in Baldwin County. But a
judge acquitted Stabler on Wednesday, ending the case.

A lawyer for Stabler, Mark Polson, said Thursday some people are
encouraging the former Alabama and NFL quarterbacking great to
return to the air. But Polson said there haven't been any formal
talks that he's aware of, and it's uncertain what will happen.

Officials at Alabama haven't returned messages seeking comment
on whether the university would invite Stabler back to the
broadcast booth. An executive with Learfield Communications, which
holds the rights to Crimson Tide broadcasts, also didn't return
messages.
