Martinsville Qualifying Rained Out

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) - Rainy weather in southern Virginia forced cancellation of this afternoon's pole qualifying session for Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Martinsville. That means they'll set the field by the points standings, giving Jimmie Johnson the inside of row one.

Notoriously poor qualifier Jeff Burton got a break when rain washed out all on-track activities, giving him the second spot on the starting grid.

Johnson holds a 69-point lead over Burton headed into the sixth of 10 races in NASCAR's Chase for the Cup.
