BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Six games into its season, UAB continues
to struggle. Vinny Zaccario kicked a 25-yard field goal with two
seconds left to give the Memphis a 33-30 win over the Blazers on
Thursday night. Quarterback Arkelon Hall threw for 209 yards and
four touchdowns to lead Memphis, which has won three straight.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks says his team
should expect a physical and fast-paced game against Saturday
against Alabama. Brooks says he doesn't see his team running the
ball well against Alabama, but hopes they can get a run it enough
to keep the pressure off of quarterback Mike Hartline.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt quarterback Chris Nickson
says the Auburn Tigers are tough, big and fast. But he says the
Commodores will have a game plan and are confident they can find a
way to have success. The Commodores will be playing their first
game since moving into the Top 25 for the first time since 1984.

TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - Fans headed to Talladega this weekend are
being told not to wait until the last minute to fill up with gas.
Fuel shortages haven't been terrible in Alabama, but there are only
a handful of gas stations near the Talladega Superspeedway.
