KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coaches are upbeat about
facing Auburn after what they said was the best practice of the
season for the Volunteer offense.

Offensive coordinator Dave Clawson said Thursday he feels the
progress by the offense will carry over to the Vols' game against
the 15th-ranked Tigers on Saturday.

The offense has struggled with mistakes and penalties as
Tennessee opened 1-2, losing its Southeastern Conference opener
last week to Florida 30-6.

The squad will face one of its toughest tests against an Auburn
defense that has allowed opponents to convert only seven third
downs in four games.

Clawson says Auburn's defense plays good man-to-man coverage and
rushes quarterbacks well.
