Playing without Tiger Woods, the U.S. Ryder Cup team has won the event for the first time since 1999. The win became official when Miguel Angel Jimenez conceded a short par putt to Jim Furyk, giving the U.S. an insurmountable 14-and-a-half points.
The day got off to a great start for the Americans as Anthony Kim dealt Sergio Garcia his worst loss ever in a Ryder Cup. From there the Americans put red numbers on the scoreboard and didn't stop until victory was certain.
The U.S. team was dressed in red shirts, the Sunday color of Tiger Woods, who could only watch from home. Following the win, the Americans erupted into hugs behind the 17th green.
