Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson knows who to credit for a win over Tulane. Wilson says the special teams and defense carried the day in the 11th-ranked Crimson Tide's 20-6 win Saturday night. The uneven performance was still enough to help Alabama jump two more spots in the Associated Press rankings.
The Tide's offense was limited to 172 total yards and Wilson passed for just 73 yards and was sacked four times a week after leading a rout of Clemson.
Tide coach Nick Saban wasn't blaming it all on the absence of injured offensive line starters Andre Smith and Marlon Davis. He says it was a factor, though.
