'Bama Players Try to Put Clemson Win Behind Them

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama coach Nick Saban wants his team to follow his 24-hour rule.

Saban said he wants the Crimson Tide to put an opening 34-10 upset of No. 9 Clemson behind them. Alabama hosts Tulane on Saturday.

Saban's team does have some concerns besides not dwelling in the past.

He said left tackle Andre Smith's status is day-to-day with a sprained knee and he will be out for a few days. Receiver Earl Alexander also had an ankle injury flare up during the game and will miss some practice time.

The coaches offensive players of the week were John Parker Wilson, Glen Coffee and Mark Ingram. Defensive honors were shared by Rolando McClain and Marquis Johnson.

Placekicker Leigh Tiffin had the top special teams performance.
