Troy's Greer Overcomes Cancer to Get Back on Field

Troy running back Maurice Greer is closing in on his first game for a four-year college football team. The former University of Colorado signee overcame a battle with cancer while playing for a junior college. Greer is now expected to be a backup tailback for the Trojans when they open at Middle Tennessee.

He was Mr. Football for the state of Colorado as a high school
senior in Denver. Greer had to attend junior college because of his
test scores.

He was diagnosed with cancer before his sophomore season and
endured eight months of treatment. Greer played again last season before transferring.
