NEW YORK (AP) - The Atlanta Braves placed reserve infielder Ruben Gotay on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a strained left hamstring and recalled left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes from Triple-A Richmond.
Reyes started Tuesday night against the New York Mets, hoping to end a career-worst five-game losing streak. He was 3-9 with a 5.33 ERA for Atlanta before being optioned July 28 to Richmond, where he had a 3.94 ERA in three starts without a decision.
Gotay hurt his leg running out a double Saturday against San Francisco. He is hitting .225 with two homers and six RBIs in 89
at-bats.
