Let's keep the countdown going. Let’s check in on the Straughn Tigers. The Tigers managed just a 4-6 mark last season.

This year, Straughn is switching regions, moving over to class 3A Region 1. Head Coach Trent Taylor says that means longer bus rides for the Tigers and new opponents from all around the state.

"We went to Region 1,” Taylor said. “A little more travel for us. But, it's always good to play different people. Most of those folks we don't know a whole lot about. With the exception of Luverne and T.R. Miller, most of them are either way down south around Mobile or we've got to travel up to Montgomery. But, we're excited about it and ready to get going."

Straughn opens the season next Friday night, the 29th at home against Andalusia.
