BEIJING (AP) - U.S. swimmer Eric Shanteau is ready to move on with his life.
Shanteau is the 24-year old who was diagnosed with testicular cancer before the U.S. Olympic trials.
The former Auburn swimmer chose to put off surgery for a chance to compete in the Olympics and his Olympics came to an end.
Shanteau got as far as Wednesday's semifinals of the 200 breaststroke but he failed to qualify for the final.
The Lilburn, Georgia, native finished sixth in his semi and tenth overall, one spot back of the qualifying field for the final.
