Simply put, the Headland Rams did not have a successful 2007 campaign. But, hope springs eternal for 2008.
The Rams were just 1-9 last season. But, the Rams were in most of the games, losing three of those contests by a touchdown or less.
This year's squad has some veterans coming back on the offensive and defensive lines. And, with 13 seniors on the team, Head coach Donnie Smith says a playoff run isn't out of the question.
“Our goal is to get to the playoffs,” Smith said. “But, we want to send these seniors off on a good note. We have a pretty good-sized senior class. They’ve been through some hard times. They’ve fought and battled. They’ve been consistent with their work ethic. We expect big things out of them this year. I hope we can send them out on a good note.”
Headland opens the season at Ariton on August 29th.
