Warhawks Get New Coach, Offense & Defense

Daleville was a playoff team a year ago. But, they had a sub-500 record and have a new coach in 2008. The Warhawks are in focus as we countdown to kickoff.

Mike Dean takes over the reigns as head coach of the Hawks. He takes over a program that was 4-7 a year ago. Dean says he wants to bring that championship mindset back to the program.

Dean bringing in a pro style offense and an attacking multiple-formation defense. The Hawks drop down from Class 4A to 3A this season.

But, Dean says, that doesn't necessarily mean an easier schedule.
"They've been on the bubble, 4-7 and 5-5 at the 4A level. Then dropping down. It's still a tough region with Pike County and Geneva. We can compete. They can definitely build on their confidence. It's definitely going to put us in the right direction. But, we've still got a long way to go."

The Warhawks host Highland Home in week one on August 29th.
