Opp Hopes to Make it Back to the Playoffs.

We continue our countdown to the high school football season. Let’s take you out to Covington County and visit with the Opp Bobcats.

The Cats made the playoffs last season. Jack Whigham's club finished 6-5 last year. That’s a pretty impressive turnaround after a 1-9 campaign in 2006.

It's year three under Whigham. The cats have six returning starters on offense and five on defense. Whigham's goals for the team are pretty clear.

"Hopefully we'll play well enough to get a chance to make the playoffs. You would like to have an undefeated season. You'd like to be region champions. But, in all honesty, our goal is to not go backwards; to continue to improve the program; make the playoffs every year and once you make the playoffs you can't ever tell what's going to happen."

Opp will host Elba in a border war to open the season august 29th.
