GREENSBORO, Ga. (AP) - One of college football's longest streaks may be about to end.
For 16 straight years, Florida State has been the preseason pick to finish first in the Atlantic Coast Conference, either in the overall standings or in the Seminoles' own Atlantic Division. But the Seminoles' run might end Monday when the league releases this year's poll.
A Bowden still may get tabbed for the top spot.
Clemson - coached by Tommy Bowden, son of Florida State's Bobby Bowden, college football's all-time win king - is expected to be the favorite in the ACC's Atlantic Division. Defending champion Virginia Tech may be the pick again in the Coastal Division.
