Stabler's Estranged Wife Suing Her Former Attorney

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The estranged wife of ex-Alabama and NFL quarterback Kenny Stabler is suing her former divorce attorney.

Rose Burch Stabler blames attorney Mark Ryan for dragging out the six-year divorce case. She also claims she's being forced to sell her Ono Island home to cover Stabler's unpaid taxes because he failed to file paperwork in 2003 to release the Internal Revenue Service lien on the home.

Ryan said the suit includes inaccuracies and has no merit.

The Stablers had agreed to sell the house on the Alabama coast to pay Kenny Stabler's tax debts exceeding $500,000. A federal judge had given them six months to try to sell the house.

Ryan withdrew from the case in 2006 and Rose Stabler represented herself until hiring another attorney in January.
