BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Virginia Tech says Alabama is being courted as a possible opponent for the Hokies, and if the Crimson Tide can't make it work, Virginia Tech would likely face another team from the Southeastern Conference.
Virginia Tech also announced it is reworking its football schedule with Cincinnati to play in a made-for-television matchup in 2009.
